Tips and Tricks For Foil Roasted Green Beans

  • Buy the freshest green beans that you can find.
  • Wash the beans and then dry them VERY well before starting, damp beans will steam quite a lot and wash off the seasoning.
  • Usually the thin green beans taste best, but don’t go with the super skinny ones. You want one that looks fully grown but not OVER grown. Young tender beans is what you are going for.
  • Look for a fresh green color and a colorful stem.
  • If the skin of the beans looks wrinkly, move on.
  • When seasoning your beans, use a little more than you think prudent, some of it will wash off into the foil.
  • Use TWO layers of heavy duty, good quality foil. This is important. Cheap foil or single layer foil is likely to tear on the grill and then all of your flavorful juices will leak out.
  • Taste the beans before you serve them to make sure the flavor is like you want. Add more seasoning if needed before serving.

A VERSE TO SHARE

So, I have a friend whose husband is stricken with the Covid 19 virus. He is in the hospital. We all know that means that he isn’t doing well.

My friend reports that rather than people calling to lift her up, check on her husband or to pray for her, instead people are calling and saying things like “I hope you haven’t been where I have been” “I was around you a week and a half ago and now I don’t know if I have it”.

Come on people.

Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.
