The difference between canned pumpkin and pumpkin pie mix is that the mix already has the spices in it! If you have plain canned pumpkin you will need to add the sugar, spices and a tad of salt yourself. No worries! It isnโt a big deal and you probably already have them at home!

How Long Can Pumpkin Pie Sit Out?
Pumpkin pie is fairly stable and can sit out for a long time at room temperature so long as you cover it up with some plastic wrap or aluminum foil (otherwise it will get crusty and dried out, yuck). Place it back in the fridge after 3 hours.
How Long Does Easy Pumpkin Pie Last In The Refrigerator?
Pumpkin pie will last about a week if kept refrigerated.
Can I Freeze Pumpkin Pie?
If you freeze the pie once it is baked or even before it is baked, the pie will separate from the pie crust slightly, it doesn't change the taste, but does affect how it looks.
Can My Dog Eat Pumpkin Pie?
I donโt know if your dog is like my dog, but my dog CAN eat anything! The question is, should my dog eat pumpkin pie?
While canned plain pumpkin is just fine for dogs and my vet even recommends it, pumpkin pie has other stuff like sugar and spices that arenโt the best for your dog.
Maybe you could just save some canned pumpkin as a treat for Bowser?
What Kind Of Pie Shell Do I Use?
Feel free to make your own pie shell or to use a store bought pie shell ! I prefer to use the Pillsbury Refrigerated Pie Shells in the red box that you'll find near the canned biscuits at the grocery!

A VERSE TO SHARE
From Revelations 7:14-17
And he said, โThese are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore,
โthey are before the throne of God
and serve him day and night in his temple;
and he who sits on the throne
will shelter them with his presence.
โNever again will they hunger;
never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat down on them,โ
nor any scorching heat.
For the Lamb at the center of the throne
will be their shepherd;
โhe will lead them to springs of living water.โ
โAnd God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.โโ

Love the Bible verse! ๐โฅ๏ธ This is the first time I have ever seen this!
Now Iโm ready to make the pie! I always make my own filling! My husband went shopping and wanted to save time for me when I make his favourite pie for Christmas! ๐ so he bought the pumpkin pie filling! It was meant to be! Merry Christmas!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I hope you'll come visit lots!
Joy Rands says
Thankyou for the Bible verse. It was a lovely surprise, and I am glad I scrolled to the bottom of your recipe! I so need to be reminded today. What a promise! There is no other hope in this sinking world.
Wendi Spraker says
Hi Joy, I'm glad you found nourishment in several ways!
Mandy says
I could do without the bible verse at the end. Some of us don't believe in your god.
Wendi Spraker says
Hi Mandy, It's true, many don't believe in my God and it seems like that number grows by the day. That is why I place the Verse that I share after the recipe. All of the useful cooking info has already been shared and anyone who wants can stop reading at that point. Its just a bit of extra "food" for those who partake. Those who don't, don't have to. Blessings to you and wishing you the very best day.
mim says
@Mandy, I'm with you on that one!
Lisa says
@Mandy, Wow! Your comment was uncalled for. Not sure what I believe in myself, but this is Wendi's site not yours. If you ever have your own site feel free to express your beliefs on there.
Wendi Spraker says
Thanks Lisa
Christian M says
@Wendi Spraker,
Thank you for the recipe. Iโm trying to find one without evaporated milk, so weโll see how it goes lol. I am too a Christian and I love finding Bible verses (gems) while looking in places I normally would never look, and I thank you and God for that! Keep persevering in the faith and recipes!
Wendi Spraker says
Hope you enjoyed!
Joyce says
@Mandy, I guess you donโt have to read it if you donโt care to. It is plainly labeled ahead of the verse. That being said, I am glad you did. It may come back to you one day when you find yourself without hope. God bless you no matter what.
Wendi Spraker says
Amen. Thanks Mandy.
Joyce says
@Christian M, I found it to be quite uplifting!! ALWAYS appropriate
RNGma says
@Christian M, is it the taste that you don't like? I love sweetened condensed milk in it (not a diet food!), or heavy cream?
@Wendi Spraker, I wonder if the evap. milk is just for fluids or does it serve another purpose? If it's just for liquid, I'd try maple syrup or caramel that you use for coffee (liquid or syrup). All three are wonderful!
Wendi Spraker says
Sounds like a great idea!
Sherry says
Is it possible to use a graham cracker bottom crust instead of the flour type? Preparing about 40 mini pies for a baby shower instead of cake etc. (We wanted to be different). I will look for the mix however back-up plan is the other.
Wendi Spraker says
I don't know any reason that you couldn't use a graham cracker crust. Sounds yummy to me.
Nancy says
I had a can of pumpkin pie mix without the label, so I needed a recipe. I should have tried Libby's website, because the almond extract was a horrible idea.
Wendi Spraker says
Hi Nancy, I'm so sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy the almond flavoring. My family loves it that way. You are right, Libby's doesn't have the almond extract in it.
Moxie says
So right and so good!
