What Do I Serve with Steamed Cauliflower?
Microwave steamed cauliflower is a great side dish for all kinds of things. We love it with pot roast or creamy mushrooms especially!
Tips and Tricks
- Always start with fresh cauliflower. Look for cream colored florets and cut edges that haven’t gone brown yet. If you notice some brown, cut it off. If there are discolored areas on the florets, cut that off as well.
- Cut your larger florets in half or in quarters before steaming.
- Be careful when removing the cauliflower from the microwave, steam is very hot and I don’t want you to be burned. It’s best to use oven mitts to protect your hands.
- Don’t go overboard adding water, we don’t want to boil the cauliflower, we just want to steam it.
- If, like me, you are starting to think the world has gone cauliflower mad, you aren’t alone. Here’s someone who agrees.

I’m having one of those days where I feel like everything is going wrong. Ever have those days? I feel like I must have done something wrong to cause all of this, but I can’t think of a single thing.
Our struggles are meant as a way for God to display his works in us. I guess I should be more mindful of how I complain and act when struggles come my way.
John 9: 1-5
As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.
