Cheerio Peanut Butter Bars

Who doesn’t love cheerios and when combined with thick hearty peanut butter, they are made even better! Are these a healthy snack?

Well, they definitely aren’t the worst snack ever! I would call them a semi healthy snack for sure.

Of all the cheerio recipes out there, this is by far our favorite one!

What Kind of Cheerios Do I Use?

  • These are made with Honey Nut Cheerios but you can also use
  • Regular Cheerios
  • Cinnamon Cheerios or BEST OF ALL…
  • Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios! YUM!
  • (I wouldn’t use fruity cheerios for this one though).

Here’s What You’ll Need

ingredients on table
  • Cheerios – because that’s the main thing, right?
  • Marshmallow cream (fluff) – 1 jar or you can substitute a bag of mini marshmallows (still no bake, you’ll just microwave the mini marshmallows).
  • Peanut Butter – Your favorite kind. We prefer smooth, but it isn’t going to hurt to use crunchy, it’s the perfect substitution.
  • Butter – It adds a little somethin somethin..

It’s Really THIS Easy!

  1. Prepare the pan
  2. Melt marshmallow cream, peanut butter and butter together in the microwave.
  3. Mix in with the cheerios.
  4. Pour into prepared dish and wait….

Tips and Tricks

  • Use any type of Cheerios you prefer, except, I wouldn’t do the fruity ones.
  • Prepare your pan or use parchment paper as these may stick.
  • If you can’t find the marshmallow fluff, a small bag of mini marshmallows will work as well (melt in the microwave).
  • Soften the marshmallow cream in the microwave for 10-20 secs to make it easier to remove from the jar.
  • This is a no bake recipe, but you still have to heat things in the microwave. If you prefer not to use a microwave, heat on the stovetop until the marshmallow cream is a thick liquid.
  • It’s fine to substitute margarine for the butter.
  • You can substitute other kinds of cereal.
  • Here’s a list of the current types of Cheerios!

PRO TIP: These are excellent with candy mixed in! Try a cup full of M&M’s or Reeses pieces.
