My parents were pretty stern with me as a child. I tried to be a little more patient with my own, I’m not sure I succeeded, but I tried.
My own child is trying what’s known as “gentle parenting” with her baby. I’ve kept my mouth shut and observed. Guess what? It’s working.
Does God expect that it’s always “spare the rod and spoil the child”? I don’t think so. Is that verse more valuable than this one?
Colossians 3:21
Fathers, don’t upset your children. If you are too hard to please, they might want to stop trying.

Thank you so much for the suggestion to use ready to bake cookie dough. I used Reeseās dough for the peanut butter cookies, and I used Pillsbury sugar cookie dough with peppermint kisses and with sugar cookie kisses. Three types of cookies in no time flat.

That made all the difference for me this year too! In the past when making these cookies, I made the cookie from scratch and that simply took forever (it is much cheaper, but hey, time is money, right?). These cookies are such a treat when mixed with other goodies in a gift bag.
